Anyone have any photos of how this looks before the horn button gets pushed on ? Ive got a bunch of new and misc used parts. Not sure if I have the right parts though and theres no videos online showing how these go together.
Yes it does. I think I have the wrong contact/spring pieces. I have one with a pigtail and terminal on the end. UGH, gotta look through the parts containers. Thanks !!!!!!
FWIW, the same parts were used on the 4 spoke sport wheel as far back as 1972 on Chevelle, and the Camaro/Camaro Z28 4 spoke wheel from forever. Chevette/T1000 and mid-80s Cavaliers as well.
Horn contact hack: the small black sleeve that goes over the contact stud and twists to lock into the cancel cam can be hard to find sometimes, but you can cut the pigtail from the "standard" wheel, and make 2 retainers for the sport wheel out of the lock sleeve. I guess GM didn't want to have assembly-line workers have to pay attention when assembling the pigtail, so the sleeve has the lock pin at both ends.
Sorry, I don't have pics, so this might sound like gibbersh

Thanks. Im assuming the spring goes in first and the plastic piece locks it in ? Then the pin slides into the plastic piece ?Your column is good as is...no further disassembly required. The pin, spring and small plastic retainer fit into the "tower" part of the cancel cam.
