Saw this over at Classic Olds forum. So I thought it may be useful here. No dog in this hunt, but figured this may be something people could consider if they were looking for a specific E-Quadrajet carburetor number. In the listing I looked at the p/n list and it seems he has 307 VIN 9 carburetor(s) for 84 H/O (17084554) and 86/87 442 (17086009). Didn't see a 3553 (83 H/O) or 5554 (85 442), though. He selling them for cores. There's plenty others, as he has FOUR 55-gallon drums full of carbs. Supposedly rebuilt by Holley (ruh-roh?) and they've been sitting in his shop for years. He's asking $75 each.

Apparently many other carb applications for e-Quads. So if you've been looking for a good core for your 80s iron, just maybe...

The ones on the top of the barrel look... decent. I wonder about the ones in the bottom, and if they've sat in puddles of water in the bottom of the barrel? Theres corrosion/rust on them of the type that comes from being in the weather, not just "sat inside a warehouse" style of dust... and believe me, Ive had parts sitting 20 years on the shelf in barns/workshops and that doesnt happen.

Still an interesting find...

It's a crap shoot. For 75 bucks for a good core, it could be just what someone needed. Or a nightmare.
