.....and solutions: Go!

Not talking about "just LS swap it" or "put new wheels on" but rather things that commonly go wrong or break or fail on these cars, and the fixes. Specific things are better.

Dash squeeking? Lubricate center hood bumper on cowl.

HVAC won't adjust temperature? The blend door in the heater box often breaks. Sometimes a screw or bolt is all that's needed to repair it. Remove glove box door and its on the top.

Hood stuck when you pull the latch release cable? Grease latch mechanism.

High speed on HVAC fan doesn't work? Fusible link often bad, high fan speed doesn't go through the resistor box like the lower speeds do.

Doors close like junk? Adjust window stops or door hinges. If you can pick the end of a door up and down the pins are shot and it's time for a bushing kit!

Generally speaking, I'd agree with crusty plastics and hoses. But of course, some of that comes with these cars being 30+ years old. Even mine, which has lived in a garage most of its life, has fallen prey to the ravages of time.

Instrument cluster connections fail, pull apart and clean it up and pray.

Rusted body and frame mounts, cut out and replace.

Waves in the plastic filler panel, rear bumper Cutlass. Replace or live with it.

Lack of power, fix, more engine, turbo, blower or nitrous
