I have a 96 LT1 going into a 78 Malibu. Decided to go poly so I went with the Energy Suspension 3.1130G Motor/Trans mount kit. Little lost on the motor mount install. I have the kit, the original frame brackets and the original LT1 brackets. What gets saved, what gets discarded?

It's kinda hard to tell in the bag but it looks like you need the metal mount part that bolts to the frame that those poly mounts slip in to. And you can for sure discard the grease and dirt on the frame where the engine mounts will go.

Ok bad pic. It looks like these actually just go inside the clamshell mounts. But that is not what I had on the car (V6 originally)
What style clamshells do i need?

Ok thank you. Now part 2 is the engine side. I have an LT1 (Gen II SBC) will these work or do i need something different?

I didn't realize when ordering that these poly mounts were not a complete kit.

The clamshell bottom mounts use these top brackets, Be aware the truck brackets are taller.

UMI makes replacement brackets for these.

https://www.umiperformance.com/home/product/heavy-duty-engine-mounts/

Used these when installing a short water pump engine with these motor mounts because the power steering pump bracket uses a motor mount bolt. This PS pump bracket will not work with a factory style bracket.

Yes, that is correct. I used them on my SBC, and now on my LS.
