I built this car in 2010 to race in Pinks All Out in Palm Beach, Fl.. Since then it has sat in the back yard uncovered, and has only been raced or driven a few times. I am now in the process of getting it race/street ready again. The engine is a 600hp 355 chevy topped with an nos fogger kit. After that is the turbo 400 w/ transbrake and 4500 stall. The rear is a ford 9" w/ strange center, Detroit locker and 4:11 gears, moser axels, disk brakes and fully adjustable 4 link arms. The car weighs a hefty 3400lbs, but it still moves. So are you going to sell all that Chevy stuff and go with a Tamahawk Buick 455 and go really fast or just a stock 455 and run 10.50's? Get rid of that 9" and put a 12 bolt in it and run 2 tenths faster. I don't want to sound like a D--- but This is what I have learned racing these cars and a Buick needs to stay a Buick.

Anything is an improvement over the Oldsmobile engine it originally came with. And it wasn't a turbo Buick so it's all fair. Besides the cost of building a 455 would have been much more then I've got into the sbc. It's much faster then 10:50's anyway.

I found some 15" x 10" centerline wheels that I'll be using on the rear. I will be cutting the frame a little to fit them in. Want to stay with at least 28 x 10.5 or maybe a little wider.

Thursday night after work I cut the frame. I cut it along the factory weld which will give me about 3/4"o 1" more room. That should be plenty. I welded it all back together Saturday, and it looks pretty good. I have plenty of room with the new 10' wide wheels(5" back spacing) and 26" x 11.5" Et Street tires. I want to go back to 28" tall slicks, but for now these will work just fine. It was pretty easy to notching the frame, and is about a 1 day job.
