Hey guys. I have been wandering around this board for a while, commenting every now and then. Thought it was high time to post some pics of my car. Since it has been buried in the garage for 5 years and I just got it out this past weekend, the time was right. Its an 86 442. I bought it in 1996 in my senior year of high school. I drove it quite a bit through college when I could afford the gas. My buddy repainted it base-clear in 1998, and it turned out well. But shortly after a guy ran a red light and I hit him in the side. It took out the front bumper, bumper cover, header panel, and right front fender. I was lucky enough to get $2500 from his insurance, which paid for my next semester of school instead of the car repair. Then I spun the car around on an interstate entrance ramp, hitting the rear bumper from the side on a guard rail and taking it off. Now I have some minor rust coming through the RH rocker panel and RH quarter panel. So it is repaint time again. I am finally at a point where I have some money to put into it, but my job restricts my time. But I will post updates as I have them.

Thanks 85supreme. I was lucky to get a 1-owner car in great shape to begin with. And I tried to slowly improve its condition until I played demolition durby with it in college. Plans at this point are to get the front and rear end parts back on it so it is legal to drive and I can start enjoying it again. Funny thing is that it sat for 5 years without being started. Fresh battery and gas and it started right up and idled perfectly. I had to top off the radiator a bit, but it dropped solidly into every gear and sounded great.

Nice 442, she does look pretty clean. It should be a very nice ride once its all back together! I wish my 442 was that clean when I started building her.... Mine was a huge rot box haha
