Finally have my 83 Regal back. Last 2 months it has been to the vinyl top shop, painter and then suspension shop. I did the 87 header panel conversion in my garage.

I know big wheels arent a fan favorite on here. But it's what I wanted to do and I'm happy with it. Still needs to be wet sanded and buffed. That will be done in the next week or 2. I have to get my deck sealed and pool opened before I do anything else to the Regal. Otherwise I will have an unhappy Wife, lol.

Well just a quick update. I have been insanely busy with work all friggin summer. I think I drove the Regal a half dozen times. I have done some other things and have big plans over the winter. Again I know its not everyones cup of tea, but I have built numerous cars over the last 20 years and never let what others think influence me. You dont have to like it but at least respect and appreciate the time and effort in to the build.

I'm 43 and still love a nice sound system in my vehicles, including my DD, lol.
So with that said, I had some things laying around the garage and purchased some other things. Called my buddy to help me out and the 2 of us spent about 12hrs installing the sounds. Installed a Pioneer Avic 8100 double din, 4) Pioneer type R 6x9 in rear deck, 2) Pioneer type R 6.5" and 2) 5.25", 2) JLW6 12" subs in a box built to spec, JL 1200/1 amp, JL 600/4 amp and a Kintetic 2400 battery in the trunk. Originally the 5.25" were under the rear windows, I drilled holes out with a hole saw and the 2) 6.5" were just laying up front waiting for me to build custom console. Same day we also wired up LED sequential tails in to a pair of 87 tails. No pics of double din, still have to take them. But I removed the HVAC controls and made a custom face plate. Still in the process of relocating the HVAC controls. Too be honest I might not relocate them as I dont ever intend on using the heat or AC.

So while the car just sitting because of how much I was working.I happen to come across some bucket seats and a very good price I originally had no intentions of doing a full interior on this car. So my mind started wandering and wound up calling my interior guy in Milwaukee Wi and told him lets meet and go over some interior options. So we met and discussed some things and I said I wanted something nice but not over the top, just clean and simple. Within a month of meeting up with him I was taking the Regal up to Milwaukee. Went with a cranberry colored interior everything is real leather and all plastics were dyed not painted. Custom center console, with 4 cup holders and LED's. I'm going to add USB ports to the front and rear of the center console. Decided last minute to do a 84-87 digital dash as well. Custom door panels and inserts below rear windows. I'm extremely happy with how the interior turned out!!!

Okay so after all that its just about winter time here, lol. Plans for the winter.
Car was painted last April and was a cheap $1200 garage paint job. Although it looks kind of okay, I'm having it repainted by a shop. Going with a dark metallic charcoal grey with a dark red pin strip to match the interior. More than likely will have the vinyl 1/4 top dyed to match the interior as well. Hoping the shop has room to get me in within the next 2 weeks.

Then it comes home for the transplant. Picked up a LQ4 6.0 out of a 2005 Silverado 2500 with only 110k miles. I got all the accessories, wire harness, pcm and pedal w/tac module. That motor does have the beefier rods in case I decide to throw some boost at it in the future. Plan now is just a cam, supporting mods and a TBSS intake manifold/TB. Planning on using my current TH400 with a TC built to the cam specs. I was able to sell my 383 for a very good buck. It paid for my 6.0, TC and to have trans gone thru and beefed up. Hoping to be in the neighborhood of 450whp NA

Too be continued........
