Alright this has all been along time coming, i wasn't going to post any pictures until i broke in the motor but thats happening tomorrow so here we go...

I'll be taking allot more photos today, This has been a project car for the last three years. I would have been done with it awhile back but i kept getting side tracked and changing direction with the build. Eventually i ended up building up a 403/ Th350 combination and putting it in the car.

Everything from front to back is new, i got lucky with the car to begin with. There was no rust at all, and never has been, the car was a GA car.

Here's as of yesterday, motors in and 75% of the way hooked up. I still have to bolt up the TQ ( i dont know why i didn't do this while it was out of the car :blam: ) , Run the new fuel lines / trans lines/ trans cooler, the list goes on.
one MAJOR hangup yet is the fan shroud. I have a AFCO racing radiator and it doesn't fit exactly like a factory unit. So i'm going to have to use carbon to make a new upper potion of the fan shroud, i'll be taking allot of pictures during the process.
The radiator is a must though, its a 550$ radiator and i got it basically for "free", traded labor for it. I feel it will do a good job keeping this 403 nice and cool.

To anyone thinking of buying those "stainless steel hose sleeving kits" , i got mine for free because i had store credit with A/Z, and they are the biggest pain in the dick ever. If they didn't look nice i'd burn them in a pile, they suck to install and the hose clamps they come with won't tighten down to a respectable TQ. And you'll prick your fingers 10 million fing times sleeving them onto stuff.

Here was before the motor was in, new suspension setup. In this picture i had the ball joints in upside down, fixed that lol.

Here is some work that was done awhile back now, the tail lights/ housings where pretty badly beat up in an accident i had so i repaired them with carbon fiber/ aluminium

This one is a picture of the mounting ear that had been ripped off entirely, in fact the picture doesn't show but not only the ear, that entire side was torn off. I was able to remake it only because the other side was still in half decent shape, and i could get the specs of the original shapes.

Some of the mounting posts where coming unseated from the original matt glass so i had to reinforce them

Some updates...

Almost done fitting the 79 Trans am center console and shifter, new cable and bracket on the car.
Driveshaft/ new u-joints In
Pulled the axles, drained the rear and put new 80W-90 royal purple gear oil/ seals and axle bearings.
Power steering pump/ brackets In, lines ran and bleed out.
Alternator on and wired in
Trans cooler/lines ran and temp sender installed
Radiatored installed for final
Fan shroud modified to fit and in

Wired up the engine bay, it's almost done i still have some things to clean up/ install for final.
I chose to eliminate as many wires to the starter as i could, i've only got the signal wire and the battery lead going too it. I ran the two always hot ignition switch wires to a fused buss with a constant lead to the battery, mounted on the driverside fender well. I also installed a fused buss for Switched power, the instrument panel, dizzy, and choke draw power from here.
The alternator has an 8G fused lead straight to the battery.

Still have some wiring issues to work out with lighting/ interior. The buzzy hits with the turn signals, and i'm not getting anything from the headlights.

What is the benefit from this? The reason I ask is I am looking to wire up my gauges another way instead of running the hot wire into the fuse box. I have too many wires running to the fuse box right now.

The benefit is it keeps things allot cleaner/ more simple. And also leaves room for easy additions in the future, if you need something else on a switched source, just run the line and add a fuse. The fuse busses come with 6-8 slots , 30 AMP capacity.

Here's an idea for you man, find the source of switched power under the dash and install one of the fuse busses i use, if the line is already fused in the cabin box then make sure the fuse is enough. Then fuse and draw everything from that buss that needs switched power, don't forgot to hook up what was originally switched or you won't have any ignition lol. Just find a neat out of the way place to mount it. You can buy those busses at any autoparts store, i got mine at the autozone.
I also spent an extra couple bucks on the fuses that light up when they blow, it'll make it alittle easier to figure problems if you put it in a tight spot.

If you need any help PM me i'll be happy to help.

Alright got allot more done today
Bleed out the breaks for final
Installed the trans crossmember/mount for temp, still need to cut it for the new exhaust.

Re-torqued the intake manifold/ headers.

Couple other things but its been a long day and i cant remember.

Took it for a test spin

Had some issues though, i have this cheap universal throttle cable bracket from the parts store i'm using as a place holder till i find my original one to the engine or buy another one. It flexes so i kept having problems trying to downshift, i couldn't do any wide open throttle runs for the same reason, the bracket flexes and no matter how much i bury the throttle it still up shifts at around 3000RPM.

The engine would also choke out if i tried to Open it up hard from a low speed cruise in 3rd.
