A strip of torch-down roofing works really well also.

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't think of using a bicycle tube.

I began working on my not quite "rust free" bed today. Got the outer arches welded in and began making patches for the inner arches. I also cut out the rear stake holes and welded in ones from the old bed as they were smashed in from having a ladder rack on it at some point. It's coming along!

Still been working on the truck bed. Got the front of the bed painted and set it up on end so I could work on the under side. Welded in a couple patches, painted the rust prone areas with SEM Rust Trap, and topcoated with Gravitex.

Looking good

Thanks! I got the bed set back on the truck today and bolted down. I used new nuts and bolts from the Ford dealer. I also bought a new battery from Walmart, and new front brake rotors and pads from AutoZone as the existing ones are really, really bad. I'll probably get those installed Monday or so.

Got the filler work done on the bed. I've got 3 coats of primer over the areas where work was done, and blocked it down today. I'm going to reprime just to fill a few last minor imperfections. Inside the bed is scuffed and ready for the Raptor Liner. I'm not worried about the dings on the top rails as I'm going to be putting rail caps over them. Bed should be painted next week.

Got quite a bit more done with the truck. It was re-primed on Friday. Monday I blocked it down with 400 grit, and the bed and tailgate were painted yesterday. Today I got the Raptor Liner sprayed inside the bed and tailgate. I'm very happy with the results. Check it out-
