So I decided to just build a completely new engine for the Monte instead of just replacing the rods and pistons to make it a high compression 565 Big Block Chevy.
This is the new Dart Big M 9.80 block with billet splayed caps and 4.60 bore, the machine work is done just doing the lifter screens.
I decided to not build a larger engine because going with a larger stroke would kill my current rod ratio of 1.538 and going to a tall deck would change how everything mounts to the engine.
And here is the new Callies Dragonslayer 4.25 crankshaft that is now balanced.
The pistons are JE Race pistons that will be 13.6 compression with my 121cc heads and weigh 20 grams less each than my current pistons.
And I decided to not only upgrade my rods but get lighter ones in the process.
These are my new Howard Forged Billet 6.535 rods that weigh in at 758 grams each which is 47 grams per rod lighter than my current rods.
