So I finally had a chance to try my new Miller Digital Infinity welding helmet and I am really impressed with the clarity and view with this thing and having 4 sensors instead of the 2 that are on my old helmet will help in those tight spots.
Even though it is heavier than my other one you don't feel the weight with the really nice headgear.

That's looks like a really nice helmet. What's it's shade range? I like my Hobart helmet because it goes from an #8 to a #13. A lot of other helmets only went to #9. Mine also has 4 sensors and a "grind" mode. My headgear is pretty comfortable but yours looks a little nicer. Here's mine.

Yours is definitely a top of the line Hobart.
For mine one of the selling points was the 13.4" viewing area and it has two shade ranges 5-8 and 8-13 depending on which mode you choose and being digital it also shows arc time etc and my favorite safety feature is that it electromagnetically senses the weld to eliminate sunlight interference and continuously detects the arc even if sensors are blocked.

Looks like a nice upgrade over the standard affordables. My 2nd auto helmet is a top of the line:::::::::::: northern tool. It's fair. Also got a set of snap in magnifiers which is a help with my 48 year old eyes, except the damn thing loves to fog up between the 2 lenses at night in our humid fla weather.
Can't see , can't weld very good.. Might have to try some sort of anti-fogging schtuff. Have to actually leave well enough alone when ya can't see & that ain't cool.

My very first helmet was a top of the line Northern Tool brand with the largest viewing area at that time. My second helmet was a Rhino both worked decent but neither come close to my new Miller

was just checking them out online, saw one for $275 shipped. Less than $400 of good helmets I looked at before locally. Maybe next year or 2 I'll upgrade.
Big question is how much better do you see on average with it?
Funny thing, I can still see decent tig welding aluminum which most consider harder. Have a harder time seeing the line with steel, mig or tig.

I have a digital elite Miller. After realizing that I was flashing myself badly on low amp tig with my old one it was a must have. It is amazing what a difference a quality helmet makes for being able to see well when chasing a puddle.
