So, getting everything reconnected and pulled out the ECU. Does anyone know what this is for and do I need it? My son's tore everything down and they don't remember where it went or if it was just loose.

that looks like it has something to do with the rear lights, the third brake lite is blue and the tail lights are brown with the yellow and green for signal/brake

It was under the hood and looks to be part of the engine harness. The car was converted to regular HEI and a crab when we got so I thought maybe it was part ofthestock set-up.

Cruise plug most likely. Plug it in to the diaphragm and retain it.

i didn't think cruise connector looked like that. looks more like a junction connector. its covered in oil. so I'm thinking it went on the engine some place. what motor came in your car? 305 chevy, 3.8 buick?
look through the pile of crap you took off and see what is missing a connector.
