Took a little road trip last weekend to the C10 truck show. Drove our '97 4Runner so it could be my RV for the night. Cool show, drag races on Friday night, autocross both days, burnout contest Saturday. 1000-1500 trucks?

That's a good sign.

Really think that may end up being my next project, although prices aren't helping that decision

And only getting worse.

I have 2 short fleet/wide beds. I couldn't afford two @ today's prices. On the last one purchased (my '64), I was offered double what I paid for it before I even made it to the highway to bring it home. As a non-running truck now, I could easily triple the amount I declined before getting on the highway.

Earlier this year, I was in discussions about an '83 Square short-wide 'fleet truck' (6cyl/3spd column shift/heat only/minimal plastic interior work truck). It was a clean, rust-free truck as is & was under-going a re-paint when the guy I knew changed his plans & decided to sell it instead to finance another build of a more desirably optioned truck ('72 short-wide). It sold to another guy who offered 5k over what I was negotiating..... w/o seeing the truck.

Hoping the market adjusts sooner than later

Don't wait too long. I turned down a $17,500 offer for my OE paint/zero rust CC dually in 2017 (OE paint, fresh interior, bagged, stepped frame rail/rear 4-bar, modded front suspension, <10k mile rebuilt OE 454).
I know a guy here in N.TX. that specializes in duallys that just sold an OE paint/motor w/some rust, single cab dually for..... $17,500.
