Mine does the same thing. What are you using for lockup control? Mine is Painless and I always assumed it was related to that. Maybe not though.

I am pure stock.

In my own humble opinion, (save the bashing for the Ford Sites) the 700 and 200-R4 transmissions have been historically noted for numerous shifting complaints. Most commonly are issues when operating temperatures have been reached. Quick up shifts and and engaging into overdrive TOO quickly, ALSO when stopping, the transmission tends to stay locked into overdrive, THIS ALSO can cause issues while decelerating, lugging and bucking may occur. Almost like driving a standard car while slowing down to make a stop and keeping the car in a high gear, causing the vehicle to lug, buck and possibly in worse case scenarios, stall your engine. Also, many times after one of these transmissions have been rebuilt, a lot of shops will put higher pressure springs in them, causing higher line pressures and therefore causing prolonged shift points. Its truly so hard to diagnose a transmission without knowing all what the shop did to it (what parts used ect ect) I guess start with the most obvious and easily accessible and work back. good luck, and hope you can get your shift points to your satisfactory.

Its the Painless kit.

Tons of complaints about it.

I was going to buy it myself until I found out about it.

Just bought the B&M kit today

this issue has been resolved - the TV valve was sticking. all the valves and the governor were inspected, everything was cleaned, the fluid all flushed and refilled. everything is good now - best guess is that some kinda crud was rolling through and hung up at that plunger. in other words be certain the trans is reassembled in a clean environment
