I think I have the wrong throttle cable bracket. I need to know the distance from the stud where the cable attaches to the carb to the bracket where the cable is secured to the intake manifold (the point where the cable jacket snaps into the bracket). This would be on an OE Quadrajet application....figure one of you Monte SS guys would have access to an original to measure.

My thanks and a virtual beverage of your choice to anyone that can help!

There are a couple of different length cables

Do you have the trotle bracket that bolts to the carb or manifold?

Manifold, just trying to establish a baseline measurement to see which cable will work

What year is that?

So it has one for throttle cable, and a separate one for the trans cable? Can you get a pic of the trans cable bracket as well?

I have what I believe is the correct bracket for the car, (per the GM parts book) but both cables come up short

You can always try a Lokar throttle cable .They can be adjusted as needed
Last resort, I really don't care for "universal" parts...you know what universal means, right....doesn't properly fit anything :ROFLMAO:

I'll get more pics today after work. That's a 305 from a 79 ElCo in the engine bay of a 78 ElCo. It does have a th200 on it, if that makes any difference.
