Trying to figure out what this engine came out of before it was put into my 81 elky. block number is 14010207 with a 43GM stamp on it. head number 3998993. the most I can seem to find is that it was an 80-85 2 or 4 bolt. Some info I found said it was a Target Master engine but can't find anything beyond that. Can't find any info on what a Target Master was. No idea on what any specs are on this engine, cam, cr,etc. Can anyone help me? I added pics of some of the casting numbers i found on the block and head just in case i'm reading them wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

More than likely a replacement engine ,unless something is stamped on the rt front block pad (in front of Rb head). If you google Targetmaster 350 engine some people have thrown down some specs on it.

Targetmaster was nothing more than a stock remanufactured engine. I wouldn't expect more than an 8.5:1 compression engine with a .390/.410 lift hydraulic flat tappet cam.
