Hahaha! Confusion creates the chaos!

I have NO earthly idea who started all this baloney. All I can say is be careful and take pictures of sh*t you take out of your door. Apparently GM decided they were going to change stuff up often for door lock parts. And then the fuggin' things don't work well after a while anyway. You would think the changes would make them better...but NOOOoooooo.
Sounds like safe bet is for Tony1968 to get to do some homework... if he can compare or confirm the existing cylinders and replacement ones are the same (so we know rod compatability) then if he posts a pic of the new cylinder he's gonna use we can try to match it

Some of the pawls have a partial part number on them. It may help, it may not.

I've got some rusty parts doors here. It'll still be raining in the morning but should be nice in the afternoon. I'll take a look for you then when it dries up out there.
I'm interested if you can get R and L sides. You can pm me if you like

The LH and RH are different, although functionally look similar.

Notice that the retaining clip goes on from a different side.

White plastic/rubber piece is driver side, black is passenger.

If you still need it, and everything is there that's missing for your new locks, let me know. B2973 LH, B2972 RH
