255s would be too large on the front of these cars and still be able to make decent turns. I have 255s on the front of my Delta 88 which has a lot more room and they even rub the sway bar at full lock.

If the rims were offset farther out, would the wheels also stick out past the fender?

These are still being made in 15x8 and 15x10's

Perfect for any Buick, especially a sweet sleeper

The best looking stock wheel ever made. Stockton made 15x10s and 15x6s for my ‘70 Skylark.

Also, the repop aluminum Grand National wheels are deep, shiny, and look great (and correct) on a Regal.
I even put a set of the repop 16" GNX / Trans AM wheels on my El Camino. Allowed me room to install LS1 brakes on the front too and those made a world of difference.

Meh, why not. I'm rocking the larger Magnum 500 version on my Cutlass. 17x7 front and 17x8 rear with 225/50 and 255/45 rubber. Wheels are likely the toughest decision besides paint color. I've said it a ton of times, they'll either make or break the look, ride, etc.

I was considering something like these for my Regal in a 17" but kind of thought they were a little too Pontiac rally stylish so I went with a mesh wheel instead.

You picked right, the mesh wheels look perfect on the Regal.
