Depends on whether you want the battery to simply start the car and hold a charge or your car has special needs. I just got an AGM battery on sale for my 87. Much less than an Optima. If it was my DD, I would have went even cheaper with a decent wet cell. My concern was for the wet battery would vent/spill acid in the car. Just didn't want to worry too much about that for this car, thus the AGM. Plus, I get to dress it up to make it look more like a regular OEM battery.

Just depends on how much you want to spend. There was a time Optimas had their issues and I got caught up in that and paid the price. I don't know if they've solved the issue or not. I don't trust them any more so I don't worry about Optimas.

Regardless of the battery of choice, no battery is a panacea if you don't take care of them. If you don't drive it very often, get a good maintainer to keep the battery topped off.
