Basically just needs plumbing done and to be gone through to make sure everything is there. Ford Kent motor with new rings, everything else that isn't custom is VW stuff. I've never had a toy before, no quads, sleds, bikes, nothing. I had a sacked out yamaha 80 dirtbike once but I'm not counting that. Best part is the tow bar! Weighing in around 800lbs, I can tow this with anything in my driveway.

STOKED!

Slowly picking away at this. Got some coolant hoses and fuel line plumbed, 12si alternator mounted, and working on exhaust now. Basically building with whatever spare parts I have on hand lol 20200910_175406.jpg 20200910_175316.jpg 20200910_175343.jpg

Got the exhaust plumbed, just have to add a hanger, weld the tip back on the muffler, and wrap it where it passes the starter. My camera takes really good pictures so dont zoom in on my welds...

And I finally found a plow! This was how I justified this purchase with the old lady, we desperately needed something to plow our steep driveway, and this was cheaper than a quad! Just have to build a mounting plate for it, picked up a 2000lb winch yesterday.

Multi-use, that was smart.
I was wondering why the thread title changed until I finished reading.

Snowed yesterday, so I spent all day wiring and plumbing. No spark out of the coil.

Can anyone help me with points ignition? Biggest question right now, do all points ignitions want to see 3 ohms total resistance? Most of the info I read talks about 1.5 ohm ballast resistor and 1.5 ohms through the coil. This application calls for a 0.6 ohm resistor, so should my coil read around 2.4? My coil only reads about 1.3 ohms, and is the correct motocraft part number for the application. Is my coil shorted, and would that account for no spark? Or do these fords just run more current? If the coil is shorted, can I simply buy a 3.0 ohm coil and bypass the resistor?

Moneys pretty tight right now, can't afford to be throwing parts at it. Cleaned the points, but havent set them yet. They are certainly making contact, though.
