Saw this on another site and I just paid $60 bucks to have mine done on my 98 Sierra.....Im wondering would this work on the G-body hinges.....has anyone here seen this......

I replaced the door hinge pins/bushings on my '94 z71 a few months ago. Not too bad of a jerb, but then I saw this ad for these bastids on CL
http://shimeze.com/ and looked out of curiosity. They have a youtube vid as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zy8yDEfn ... e=youtu.be

Looks like the "shims" would be pretty easy to make if you're too cheap to spend $20, and can't beat the ease of install. Sure it's not a "factory" fix, but for 5 mins looks like an easy solution...

 ummmm, no, not a fix at all, that's a band aid that will cause more problems down the road. Good trick for a parts car that you just want to be able to close the doors, without risking the breakage of handles, or windows and such. Maybe a "get you through til spring" cobb at most.

x2. i did mine on my cutty. got new hing pins and yes had to take the door off and tack weld the pins but mine is permanent fix i spent 14 dollars on ebay. and a couple hours of work.

Yes,I would definitely say that is a bandaid and gbody doors are far heavier then that example.
It is a unique idea for a quick fix but you could make those shims pretty easy if you wanted to go that route.
On a side note I thought the guy was going to have a stroke just jacking up the door

I mean, I guess it's worth a shot. Nothing I would rely on, but they would probably last 3-6 months until you could fix the hinges properly. I straightened, tack welded and re tapped my hinges, then put new bushings and pins in. But for $20, what the hell, I'd try it.

Why not just loosen the six bolts that hold the hinges to the body and shift the door where it needs to be to close? Keep the $20 for more important things...like beer.

Hinge pins and bushings are easy. I did mine on my Blazer. I unplugged the wire harness from inside the door and took the door off. Did it all myself, piece of cake.

I did take the doors off the '79 Malibu to replace the upper hinges  I did those myself and wish I had help. Those doors weigh a ton each.

Blazer hinge pins and bushings.
