THE motor is knocking really bad it makes a loud clacking sound when I start it an it shut off on me coming home from work the other night305's are pretty tough; what's wrong with it?

I’ve been looking at a 5.3 an I found a flex plate adapter that will allow me to use the same transmission I have now an I’m using some dirty dingo motor mounts or the original motor mounts to work with my application I’m going carbOh damn, yeah, it's done for. Well, swapping in a 350 would be a ton easier than a 5.3.......
ive had a 5.3 and a 6.0 ls swap all the hype aint that of a big deal to me LS swap just means alot of electrical bull crap and never stopping drama lol if i could do it again i would of went the 383 stroker and worry about 3 main things on it instead of 1000 from an ls swapView attachment 91260 View attachment 91259 View attachment 91258 My name is Bryan I have a 1986 ss it has a 305 that motor is completely gone in I’m trying to do a ls swap to a 5.3 vortec I have a 200r4 transmission I want to hook up to it now until I can save up the money for a nice 6.0 & 4l80e I drive this car almost everyday an would like to get it back on the road ASAP if possible I’m open to all suggestions an ideas on how to make what I have work for now to drive on these hot summer days. I’m getting the motor for under $600 how much is a 383 strokerI going carbureted on it will it still be a problem if I do that
