I've been looking at the forum for awhile and finally decided to join. I've owned several g bodies over the years but it's been 10 years since I've had one. Just picked this up for 1100 and it's time to get to work.

Welcome to the site from Michigan. That 442 is a great find for $1100. Looks like it has a lot of potential.

I am originally from Michigan. Went in the military late in life. That's why I've been without a g-body for a decade. I live in Indiana now and work for the FAA. I am using my gi bill to take auto body classes. I plan on fixing the dent in the front fender or replacing it. I can use the downdraft paint booth for free. I just have to pay for materials. Plan on keeping the car mostly original for now. The car hasn't been started since 2004 so who knows what I'll find.

Welcome. Im fairly new here too, few weeks...was in the army for 6 years, combat vet here. Yes, very nice ride. Mine isn't a 442 but I got the vin 9 307 v8 in it, came with the car when I bought it, the shop owner I bought it from dropped it in from a caddy he had in the yard that the frame rotted out in. Def a good engine, too bad my trans is junk lol.
Is it running currently? Or getting to it? Keep that motor, look around yards for what you need....parts for these are running really cheap today, I had to replace my tc cable last week, cost 20 bucks at advanced auto....they got pretty much everything for these. Just make sure he picks the right engine....for some reason the 307 gas v8 doesn't come up in an 85 cutlass supreme, even online ordering from summit racing...I have to put it as a cutlass salon. Anyway, gl, look forward to your g body endeavors.

Nice car, I would have dog piled on that car for $1100, good buy. I would drain the fuel tank and clean it out. Do an oil and coolant change as well. With fresh gas from a clean tank, it may fire right up.
