Just picked up an '86 Cutlass about a month ago and thought I'd join the forums after using it to gain some information on the car. This is a nice place with good, knowledgeable people. Can't wait to get in the mix.

This isn't my first g body, but it'll be the first one I've actually got some money to throw at. Had Hondas and Nissans when I was younger, then got a '79 Regal with a 350 when I was 20 or so. I bought it that way and thought it was the fastest car ever when I used to beat on my Honda buddies. Got the torque bug and never looked back at imports.

I'm 30 now with a decent paying job that can finally afford me a fun project car. Picked this '86 V6 model up for $1800 with a totally shot interior but had a 305 swapped. Real sluggish motor but it sounded good. Now she's a smoker and I'm looking at doing a Blueprint 383 or taking the plunge and doing a 5.3/6.0 that'll eventually have a turbo. We'll see what's in store.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome aboard from KY. Sounds like you have a little work cut out, but if the funds are there then no biggie! You've definitely come to the right place to learn some stuff.
I was pretty knowledgable on my 87 cutlass being I've owned it since 2001, however I've learned soooo much from the guys here that it's unreal!!!

We all love pics, so when you get the ole girl cleaned up definitely post some!

Thanks Clutch. Just gotta get a drivers side fender and tie some things up and I'll have her looking decent. Didn't realize how hard it would be to find a fender for it. Cosmetics aren't too big of an importance for this build right now though. Really just focusing on upgrading that little 305 to something that'll put a grin on my face.
