Hello everyone,

My name is Joey. I am from Gun Barrel City Texas.

I own a 1980 Chevy El Camino with a ATK 350 Crate Motor with a little work and a built TH350.

There is a lot of story behind this car... My best friend and I built this car in high school. He passed away the summer after we graduated. My wife surprised me with it for my birthday 10 years later.

Looking forward to being in this group. Been looking through a lot of the threads and there seems to be some very knowledgeable people in here.

I know I will have some questions along the way and I will help answer any questions I know as well.

Thanks,

Joey

Welcome from Chicago Joey! Great looking El Co! The wifey is a true keeper for hunting the car down and getting it for you. A lot of info here hope to see more pics as you continue to work on it.

Welcome aboard, Joey.
That's a sweet looking El Camino. The fact that it belonged to your late best friend, makes it all the more special. I'm sure he would feel proud that you now own his pride and joy.

Wheels are 15's I believe the tires are 255-60 not 100% off the top of my head. It needs a little wider tire in the rear but I am holding off for hopefully finding a Ford 8.8 or 9 inch for it.
