I'm deducting 10 points for red split loom. The paint looks GREAT!!!!!
You're right. I thought it would look good, and contrast with the black and silver back when I did it-3 years ago. Now, not so much. Does not look good to me anymore. Doesn't go with Dark Autumn Maple Metallic.
Going back to black after I finish the interior, all the door and window trim, put front bumper and grill back on, straighten out the transmission, fix turn signal stick, uh anything else?
I am a seriously mental Red person. Had this problem since birth, I think. 🤒Check this--- I put new front beam on my VW. Hopeless. Is that red enough?? 😬

Welcome aboard Mike.
I love the color you did on the T-Type. Yes, you definitely have a red fixation....:giggle: ,,, V-dubs as well.
I dig the Cal look bug. A man after my own heart. What's going on with the Karmann-Ghia?

It's next. Bug is finished now. Ghia gets a 2332 and paint, and finished.

Thanks, for the comments on the paint. The color looks way better than I thought. I didn't want to change it, since I'd have to paint everything, and I just got the motor in. Pulling that back out would have been nuts. The old paint was dull and I wasn't sure how it would end up. But it looks great, very metallic in the sun. Very happy with the results.

Any plans of adding disc brakes to the bug?

I just put a 2" narrowed beam on with,2 1/2" drop spindles. Thought about discs, was going to use ghia parts, but would have had to order more spindles so no discs. I am good with drums. It stops great. Keeps the old school look too.

I could see that you wanted to retain the original wide 5-bolt wheels and drums. All the bugs that I've owned were all drum brake cars, and they stopped pretty well. The early Porsche 356's used drum brakes until '64 when they changed to 4-wheel discs using the 911 bolt pattern. However, the Carrera models used an early type 5-bolt wheel pattern with annular disc brakes.

I couldn't change anything, I have 5 five spokes and didn't want to by wheels too. Drums work great. Running 135s on the front, I don't see any benefit to using discs. Careful driving is the strong link here 😁.

Thanks to all for the welcome and positive comments. Had a couple of "issues" and got sidetracked. Father in law passed, wife had knee replacement, just some little stuff. 🙄
I was looking at several threads about HVAC wiring and vac lines. I'm having vac issues, but the pics don't look like my car. My air only comes out on the floor. I have an 84 T. My line from the "reservoir" on the passenger side goes towards the middle of the bay and stops. I think it goes to the vacuum block or tees with something there. Anyone have a turbo car diagram or knows where this goes?
I rebuilt my a/c system and it works great otherwise.
