Pulled the intake off and it’s super clean inside had a little sludge at the bottom of the oil pan but it’s not bad at all. Pulled the #3 main cap to inspect the crank and bearings and the wear is actually very nice. Someone has been into it before just like I suspected it has had bearing replacement and the pistons look to have been replaced will get a bore scope so I can see if we can see any markings on them from where they’ve more than likely been upsized. All in all I’m very happy with the inspection so far.

Cleaned the car out and getting ready to start prepping it for the floor pan and firewall removal and replacement. Also organized all the parts I’ve accumulated with my shelving from work finally. The 4.1 looks to be healthy and not that old of a rebuild so it will get a new gasket kit and just send it once it’s cleaned up and painted in wonderful corporate blue. Planning on getting the frame cleaned up sometime in hopefully late April or May and get it painted and ready for reassembly as a roller again.

Sunday evening I cut the rear seat section out of my old GN and dragged it to what will probably be it’s final resting spot. I also ordered the full goodmark floor pan today for the car. Just need to order both a pillars and the b pillar patches.

Those two solenoids on the passenger-side valve cover are painful to look at. And I know of nowhere to get any replacements.

Yeah they’ve seen much better days I’m not sure if I’ve got spares I’ll have to look before I make a post

Floor pan came in about two weeks ago finally got it out of the box. Also has anyone successfully pulled these remote mirror cable ends apart and reassembled them? I have a good mirror and housing but the mount is messed up. And then I have the original with a good mount.

I know that it was discussed in Donovan’s thread, but don’t think there was ever any answer...

I will attempt that in a few weeks when the car comes out of hibernation.
Have a DS remote with a broken cable, and a good spare with pitted housing. Plan to swap the cable from one to the other. Tiny springs and small parts, it should be a real hoot.

PM or search Hafrod. Seems like he'd know. Maybe you could find a YouTube. If a man can put it together, you can put it back together. I wimped out and got a different mirror.
