I’m real tempted to polish them. The machine finish is kinda faint on these compared to how it is on my Typhoon wheels.

Well there is a decade of technology between the two vehicles. So unless you are going to start restoring a DeLorean too - you are probably going to have to settle on a 2020 level of finish quality. Which will be way better.

I see a lot of vehicles at shows that have been left original when restored, however "Improved". Its easy to get in a mindset of keeping something original right down to the "finish" on lets say your wheels. Unless the car is being restored to specs, or going to have a future of scrutiny under the microscope of a panel of 10 judges, often times you can IMPROVE factory quality with not much effort OR time. All manufacturers of vehicles are in business for one thing, PROFITS, and at the time of our beloved G body cars, and with the EPA breathing down on the big three era, they had to cut corners like everyone else to stay in business and be competitive, and profitable, HENCE, low quality results SEEN in our G body cars. Low quality materials, finishes, and craftsmanship suffered. So to me, if you can take those wheels and restore them in a cost effective way, and they look different from factory, EVEN BETTER, who cares if they have the same low quality factory finish, GM would have done the same thing if money was no object back in the day. Lets see your creativeness!

Nothing you remove by polishing can't be restored by a shop later. Besides, you're already thinking of not going 100% factory on the Lear seats aren't you?

Polish one, see how you like it after.

Take good pictures and save the best wheel for last in case you change your mind.

Worst case scenario, polish them all and if a shop doesn't like your pictures after you get another sample wheel. There's a handful of guys like me out there that've hoarded a couple sets.

What's your Typhoon look like? I want one in the worst way, right after I bought the second Monte I saw an Aspen Blue pop up for like $6k that I would have got if I didn't just buy the second Monte. Been looking at them for a while but hate that the price has spiked on them

Aspen blue is by far my favorite color. Here’s mine

Left work early today, got the frame cleaned with the KBS cleaner and also the KBS blast that basically acts as a etching primer. Planning on coating the frame this weekend once it’s completely dry. No outside pics as I had to get everything back in quickly before it storms.

Pretty happy with the final coat I did this morning, for a brush on paint it leveled out very nice. I’ll get some better pictures once it fully cures and can move it out.
