I got an 81 cut supreme

I just had to hunt down and find 2 new struts to hold my trunk up (which was not an easy task) as I was sick up propping it with a stick

Upon installing the new struts
My trunk still falls fairly easily

Now I don’t know if I missed a step?
Or if the new struts are just old and no good themselves

Or am I just being too picky cause it will stay up
But a slight touch or shake of the car will cause it to fall down

Anyone else encountered this problem?

I had lordco and Canadian tire hunt them down
Both looked up my vehicle and said these were the ones

Overall I ended up getting both through Canadian tire from separate locations but same part number
Brand new

But they barely support the trunk weight

Depends the company make
But it’s 4100 Or 901301
From what I’ve seen

Which is exactly what I’ve got
The image is the part on amazon and lists the matching part numbers

I just feel maybe the ones I got were already defective from sitting for years

Looks like 1 regular Monroe and 1 Max lift Monroe. However, they have Sachs, which are IMO the best supports available in the aftermarket. Have a set of Sachs on daughters XJ Cherokee for 3 years, still good..and the gates are pretty heavy

Also available at O'Reilly stores if you have them near you for only a couple bucks more.
