Hi everyone, new to gbodys and really cars in general (had different interest as a kid but finally found something I really love!), I recently purchased a 1978 olds cutlass salon with the 260ci v8 and 141k original miles for almost scrap price even came with all the paperwork since 1978, the previous owner hit a deer and didnt want repair the damage and bought a new vehicle instead lucky me! It needs quite a bit of work but Im going to get it back in shape, looking forward to all the help this thread is going to give and already has. Put in a new radiator, water pump, transmission(50k miles), new battery, and tires, It's been too cold to do much until recently in Michigan. none of the bodywork has been touched yet but I've sourced most of it locally, the header panel is destroyed, needs a talight and headlight, the mirror is taped on (lol), the interior us pretty good other than all the plastic trim in the back is scratched to hell and the headliner is tacked up crazy. Seats are like couches I never new a car could be so comfortable! Fell in love with this car at first sight and I plan on keeping it forever.

Plans for the build are too restore the body and interior to original other than the possible addition of the ralleye gauges and a new steering wheel. Repaint thinking I'm going to stick with the factory paint I'm kind of digging the current color scheme. Put on some aldan American phantom series coilovers to give it a slightly lower look, and some 14" SSR wheels to make it stand out a little more.

I have no idea what I want to do engine wise and it is an automatic so I'm looking into the difficulty of doing a manual swap.. but that looks like it wont be in the plans for a while lol
