Thanks very much Turna. Could you tell me which book you have, that you posted the photo of the production numbers? Its something that I've been trying to figure out. I've done some research, and read on another site that there were 202 4 speed Malibus sold in the States in 1980, and 124 4 speed Malibus sold in Canada in 1980. I intend to get in touch with GM Vintage Vehicle Services here in Canada, and have them check through the VIN for my car, to see if I can get some more info on all of the RPOs on the car (I have the original bill of sale, from the dealership when the car was sold new, but it doesn't have all of the info that I'm looking for), and I'm hoping that they can confirm the actual production numbers, at least for Canada, for 1980.
Regardless of the actual numbers, I know that I have a rare car here, and that not many were produced that year.
Thanks again for your help.

Congrats Clean, really excited to see your build and compare notes at some point in the future.

Your vehicle is a reflection of you so any changes you make I am sure will be well thought out, tasteful and done well.

You are only about 20 minutes or so from me so I am looking forward to getting together for coffee when our respective builds are complete.

Thanks very much Aztec and Mrockatansky. I'm looking forward to getting the car on the road and enjoying it. Hopefully, we can meet at some point during the good weather.

I like the current paint scheme, so I'm going to stick (no pun intended) with that. I'm not a big fan of the 14" rims and wire hub caps. As it stands right now, I'm going with a set of 15" by 7" steel "Vette style rallys with 235/60 tires on the front, and maybe 255/60 tires on the rear. The interior definitely needs work, since the carpet is badly faded, the driver's seat is torn, and the plastics are faded and chalky looking. There is a mild 350 engine in the car's future (probably next year). I'll be tweaking the suspension a bit as well. I want to get it on the road for this summer, and enjoy it, while I figure out what I need to do.

I took the original 4 speed out of this one in 1990 when I was making it a Pro St/Drag car. I didn't think it would last with BBC LS6 that was going in it. It still has the clutch pedal in it!
