So I grabbed some crummy pics of a converted awd gbody malibu they pulled out of a river on the show, to me it looks like they doubled the frame with and s10 maybe here are the pics hopefully someone has some insight on the build

Damn dual frames, wonder how they shoe horned that in and how that awd works. Prototype for that awd cutlass maybe
I think the picture identifies the functionality of that set up.

I'm going to guess that it's downfall was the loose nut behind the wheel. It looks to be intact mechanically. Design wise, I don't understand why you would switch from the triangulated 4 link to leaf springs. It's not like they were scared of fab work.

Front control arms don't look S10 or Astro related.

Rear swaybar looks like s10 4wd stuff.

Yeah it's an interesting piece of engineering that's for sure got to be heavy as hell with two frames
