Not so quality in control

Today I installed the rest of the piston rings on the not so 357 magnum build and to my surprise one of the pistons has a 3mm oil ring land and the other 7 have 4mm oil ring lands lol
So tomorrow I’m going to see if any of the local machine shops have any broken sets of rings 4” bore.040 over if not I’ll just have to buy a single set
I did get a deal on the pistons back in 05 from a shop that closed 50$nib
I did manage to get the camshafts degreed in
I do have the other 6 slugs I can drop in the holes that gives me something to do tonight
Makes you wonder how this was missed back at the plant
I’m still under budget ?

If you can't find a piston maybe you can find a shop to open up the ring land to the right size?

I do have a mill and if I had a piston vise I would attempt to open the land up and then throw the piston away lol

What does that piston weigh compared to the others?

It may trow off your entire rotating assembly.

I did weigh all of them before I started
The number written on the pistons 790 is the weight in grams the small number on the side 147 is the pin weight all the pistons are close if one of them would have been off by a ton I would have caught it
Yes they are some heavy b*tches not going to REV this thing long past 5grand with stock rods boom!!!!! Goes the bottom end

More quality bullshit my year old speedway aluminum rad sprung a leak it’s made by TruFlo for speedway
I removed it ten minutes ago leaking at the filler neck look at the pictures
Going to work for a repair back in service tomorrow
