What car/engine?

Take out the motor mount bolts

put a piece of a 2x6 big enough to cover the sump of the oil pan

floor jack under the oil pan with the wood on the pad, jack up engine

put 2 pieces of 2x4's one on each side of the engine between the 2 motor mounts, release jack

now the engine should be high enough to drop the pan and clear the Kframe

you will also most likely remove the timing cover along with everything in front of it, to ensure a proper seal.

The factory service manual actually shows undoing the engine mounts and lifting on the harmonic balancer with a floor Jack. Also the crossover pipe will need removed. Buy a block off plate and put the crossover pipe, along with the factory exhaust under the bench. A custom bent 2.25" or 2.5" dual exhaust will add a measurable gain in power.

Hey Folks,
i lifted the engine whith a engine lifter.
It was a great expense to replace the Oil pan gasket. Until now i never had to lift the engine to rplace the oil pan.
It was also necessary to drill holes in the exhaust manifold for the cross pipe.

But now the oil pan is dry )
Thx
