For the gazillionth and 1 time.......

What spark plugs do you use?

AND

Why do you use them?

I use Autolite #25 in my big block.

Why because 1/2 a gazillion years ago it was all that would run good in my Pontiac so I just stuck with them.

I'm sure there are better choices out there these days so I want to hear some reasons on why you use the brand you do.

I can answer why you use spark plugs, the car won't run without them.....:)

I use the cheap AC plugs for vortec heads, I find they work good

Dart recommended them for their heads(Autolight), I've run them for many years w/o incident - why change ! Have had problems w/ AC

In my 5.3 in my daily I use the OEM AC Delco plugs. Why? They always ran just fine and I like sticking with OEM stuff to a large extent. I run a Delco oil filter in it.

For my GP I bought a set of Autolite Double Platinum plugs since they were what Davis Unified Ignition recommended for use with their distributor. No idea how they run yet. :(

I have a 90ish gm replacement block in a project im working on.it has cast iron heads .
im not sure what plugs to use in this.the accell r44?
im concerned about the thread length as far as how deep they go in.some plugs seem to be at least a 1/4 inch longer but still don't hit anything while turning the engine over.

NGK TR5, TR6, BR6EF or BR7EF depending on if the engine is stock, high performance NA, on a little nitrous, or heavily boosted.

The BR-series are non-projected tip. The TR5s are stock heat range and the 7s are two steps colder.

Also these are all copper plugs and work great - because they are copper it forces you to change them about once a year and therefore forces you to keep closer tabs on how your engine is running.
