Had to notch my current air cleaner base for it to fit the new regulator setup.

Ok no problem......but now what?

Do I just chip away at the air filter until it fits or is it hopeless and go with a different size or style air cleaner.

How would you seal up the notched base?

Maybe you could utilize one of those AL spacers under the base?

You probably considered this but can't you install the regulator in a different location?

Looks like you would have to trim the air filter too much, maybe you could try a drop base for a holley carb with notches for the fuel bowls? I'd second the idea of moving the regulator.

It looks like you almost have it if the bace doesn't need to drop any further I'd find something to cap over it with like an old aftermarket center cap something round like that so air flows over it nice

Haha i just ran into that same problem, i ended up mounting my regulator underneath the bracket, required some modifying of the bracket, My first idea was exzactly what you did, but i did not want to cut my filter, had to go with plan B..

yes the base is sitting were I want it and I will cap it off but I will still have to notch the air filter
