Have been away from G-bodies for a while and am trying to get back. Have an opportunity to pick up a 77 Buick Regal with 29,000 original miles. It has a 350cu Buick motor with a Turbo 350 transmission. I would eventually like to swap in a 355cu Chevy. Is this doable?

Welcome back!
Why not keep the Buick 350...especially being a low miles engine?

Been a while but I dont think so. The th350 hooked up to the Buick motor would be BOP ( Buick Olds Pontiac ), the chev case is a chev case. There was a time where you could get an adapter kit to make the two mate.

... that is if you are asking if you can swap the motor and keep the trans ...

IMO if you're going to keep it on the street, you can work with the Buick. If you've got plans for a lot of track action, you're probably money ahead running a Chevy in the Buick. 250 hp in a good street setup can be plenty of fun.

Will be basically a street cruiser and maybe a grudge nite at the track.

With the low miles, I'd keep and modify the Buick drivetrain.
