So i got this vin 9 Olds 307 out of an old 87 442 i had just hangin out in my garage, i messed up the rod bearings back in the day when was 16 by over reaving it it (didnt shift out of 3rd when it was mashed down  ) anywho, i was thinking about over time building it up and throwing it in my 442 now (to keep it all olds 😛 ) its been sitting in my garage for about 5 years now, does anyone think its worth the build or am i just going to piss away money, keep in mind this will be a over a long period of time build, so what do you guys think? build it or let it spend the rest of its time in my garage?

if the cutlass is going to be sold as all original then yes, since its numbers matching then it would keep the value of the car higher than selling it with the mouse motor. If you're doing it for more performance than yes, its a waste. These types of 307s are valuable in a way if someones restoring a 442 and they need an HO motor than you can get a chunk of cash for it. If engine swapping is what you plan on doing, go get a sbo or a bbo and rebuild that and throw it in. Keep it olds.

BTW if you are looking for an olds engine, I have a 350 olds for dirt cheap.

If you are looking for power, no. If you just want to keep it all original and possibly increase the value of the car, but not too concerned with power, probably.

how much you want for it? i have an sbc 350 in it right now i was just thinkin what i could do, i just thought it would be kinda cool to have a built 307, but i guess there is a reason why no one else does it haha

its a 1973-1974 block, and has the shittier #8 heads. I would buy a set of those edelbrock heads for it,that would wake it up a lot.
