With "Oldsmobiles" one needs to know their limitations." Unless you have great heads, the power dropping off after after 5,500 rpms, usually, there's always the exception. Most street engines don't have aluminum rods, light pistons, better ring package, big time flowing heads, so spinning higher rpms is like playing with a hand grenade. Sooner or later, the pin loosens up and falls out. Kaboom.
