What a waste of cash, should have invested into a 455 and gotten 600+hp at that price.

if everyone thinks the same we'd still be driving black ford model t's

$9000 for 425 hp? That's ****in' sad. I spent 1/3 of that and make more power with my 455.

Poor guy... I hope somebody at least bought him dinner before they bent him over like that.

hmm...just thought I'd post it thinking that olds engines aren't that plentiful and although the amount spent doesn't equate to the hp some of you think it should put out it does seem to be a quality built engine....

might as well just delete this thread

I was just too blown away by how much $$ the poor guy spent...

I bet it's a fun engine if it can get snapped up for a decent price.

I sure wouldn't mind having it in my Cutlass wagon...

the machine shop works costs are probably a good deal of the money he put into the engine....we had over $4,000 into the bottom end of our race engine and that was 2,400 for the machining and balancing and the engine put out less than 400 hp. If you don't have a machine shop to do your own work your going pay dearly for it or get some half *ss shop to do some junk work that just grenades when you get your foot into it

Remember, we pay more for everything automotive in Canada. I say there is much more in that combo with tuning and bigger headers. He is over on Olds power, has run good times so far.

I have over $5k in my 330 I have been trying to get built.........if I had known a little more, I probably would have went with 403 or 455, but I still haven't seen too many 330's being put in a 87 Salon, so I will be accomplishing what I wanted....a good quality Olds motor, that is different form anyone else's I know of, in my 87; just spending more than I would have liked. But believe me, I will be having fun with this engine.........

Still don't know when I will have it together and in the car........
