Get a block of wood and tap it lightly with a hammer...left, right, left, right. Mine came loose after about 5-6 taps. No damage...

Just pull it out?
yes just a snug pressed fit, depends on rust tho, natures lock tight lol

I have had luck hitting it down with a good bang to break the bond then tap side to side as you pull up on the lower neck

Don't hit it too hard or you will dink it. But yeah, little light love taps back and forth will do the trick.

Just one more tip....NEVER, and I mean NEVER use the lip of the top of the tube that holds the cap to tap UP on. NEVER. If you didn't hear that, I'll say it again...NEVER!!!!

That piece is just pressed on the top of the tube. Guess what happens when you try to tap up on it? ....a long time ago when I had peach fuzz for a mustache, I learned this the hard way. Don't be that young and dumb me. Come to think of it, don't be that old and dumb me now, either. I don't have a choice, though.
