:?: i have a 1980 442 w30 t top.it has a 350 rocket in it i was wonder what is the stock rocker arm ratio.the motor is completely stock.i plan on swicthing to full roller 1.6 ratio rocket arms and some stiffer valve springs to avoid valve float and some headers to assist with to exhaust.maybe some lighter push rods also

Stock ratio is 1.6

where could i find the stock cam spec for the 80 442 w 30

.400 lift. Look at the smallest Voodoo cam to replace it.

ok does this come as a kit or as just the cam

Are you planning on doing anything else to this engine? If not, I wouldn't waste the time and $ on a full roller. The stock olds 350 valvetrain is more than enough for the rpms that engine will see with a stock cam. Maybe just put on the new stock springs, since you are putting in a new cam.

i was looking to install headers and a ededlbrock intake straight dual exhaust and add a msd box

You can try www.442.com and look up the specs by yr and or engine. Olds stock rockers are a unique set. They are set to a specific tourque setting with no adjustments. If any cam change is made you most likely will have to either shim the stock rockers or convert to adjustables. Also you may have to have the heads milled and tapped for the different rocker stud and get custom made push rods. I got away with a stock set of pushrods after I decked the heads and decked the rocker pads for the guide plate and installed longer studs. You can use a Ford 1.7 rocker if you want more lift, not sure of the part numbers but they are used by many.

thats want i want a little more lift as long as i can get the motor in the 220 hp range thats fine with me

how are you floating your valves with a stock cam? are you revving it to 6000?!?

your springs must be shot.. you dont need super stiff springs with a stock cam.. with todays shitty oil thats just asking for a flat cam
