how are you floating your valves with a stock cam? are you revving it to 6000?!?

your springs must be shot.. you dont need super stiff springs with a stock cam.. with todays shitty oil thats just asking for a flat cam

:blam: umm no one said any thing about valve float, with a stock cam,i said i want to avoid valve float from happening.if you were to read my first post you would have saw that.i was just simply inquiring about the stock rocker arm ratio which is 1.6. i had mention the idea of using full roller rockers maybe 1.7 ratio and no i dont plan of reving up to 6000 rpm but with another .1 point of ratio added to the rocker arms,i dont want my valve springs to give out under heavy load.knowing that the vavle train is one of the weak points of high milleage engine including the sbo and bbo along with the oil systems. it would only make sense to upgrade those area to reduce oil temputure, frictions and free up some hpand help extend engine life.i dont think my valve spring is shot according to my mechanic the motor is solid.read again my first post again.
