That's really impressive.

Is it possible that your exhaust system has reached its limit and is starting to work against itself?

A simple Hellwig "Pro Touring" ARB will be enough to straighten the car out.

Probably. I’ve mentioned previously that Holley targets a dome pressure number (it’s freakin’ stupid) not a boost target. So if I’m at 2:1 exhaust pressure, then it’s very sensible that 33 lbs on top of the gate with 22 pushing in the other direction means that I need more dome pressure. The only positive is I have over 500 lbs on tap, the beer tap system that is ;).

Just need more testing and more runs. I said previously that I could get a 9 if I could make 5 or 6 runs consecutive. I was wrong, missed by .069 seconds.

But I know what to do now. I’m going to add a bunch on top and try to hit the boost safety at 27 psi next time out.

Drag Week repurposed jet ski trailer and bigger transmission cooler - thought they should go together.

Nice progress! Close to gettin in the 9's! Bummer on the 60ft not working, I lived that life last time I went to the track with the 1/4 not working on either lane and the 60ft not working in the left lane.

Interesting in the tire pressure, I have got down to 18 on my Hoosier DR's. Not sure if I need to go lower or not.

How much boost on the launch?

What shock settings? I was 2c/7r my last time to the track but never hit it with enough power to notice if it needs more or less either way.

5-6 psi on the launch and the settings were 1/5. On the last launch I turned the right rear compression to 6 to slow down the g-body shuffle. It worked somewhat, but not great.

So, found a problem (and it should be a cheap fix.)

I pulled the rockers to have all of the valves closed and I pressure tested the intake system from just behind the turbo (see pics).

My intake gasket at #2 intake port is leaking profusely at 20 psi of intake pressure (boost) and it will only hold 23-24psi once I hit 35 psi of intake pressure. So that should mean that is the reason why I’m not building more than 23-24 psi with well more dome pressure. I turned up the pressure to 60 psi with the regulator and still only 24 psi in the intake - the rest is leaking off . My throttle body shaft leaks a little, it’s audible, but nothing crazy like the intake at #2.

So off to find some new gaskets. Probably will visit the General’s store tomorrow to pick up some new OEM’s.

Holy shitcow am I’m pleased with this. I was very concerned that I was at the end of the turbo - which would suck because larger T6 frames are not cheap.

Excited to see how this changes things.

Got the new trans cooler installed. Took out the Hayden 11x11 for this double row Derale. The fan seems a like twice the fan if my previous fan. Hoping to get the trans cooled quicker so as to make runs more quickly. The trans temps is what holds me back from hot lapping. It takes 45-60 minutes to get back to 150 after a run that gets to 190 by the end of the 1/4.

I know that’s a little bit overkill, but I do t want to smoke the trans again. The last (only) time I got it got hot it took about 3 seconds to go from 210 to 260, hence, my concern.

Took a pic of my exhaust - think it might be loud lol?
