So 10.99 or faster with an auto you need a 4.1 spec trans shield regardless.

And if going 9.99 or faster with auto you can do any of these?

(You are doing this one, correct?)
29.1 flexplate
AND
30.1 flexplate shield & 4.1 trans case shield

OR
29.1 flexplate
AND
30.1 bellhousing & 4.1 trans case shield

OR
29.1 flexplate
30.1 trans case

And a totally different line of rules if you go stick. Then you end up in SFI 6.1 for bellhousing and SFI 1.1 for flywheels (maybe/probably?)

I'm just trying to decide what I need to do to make a drag week legal 8.50 car without putting cubic dollars into safety equipment which is arguably carryover from 50's & 60's engineering.

Too much profit to change now.

Those Hellcat Redeye Super Stock models are looking like a relative bargain these days, eh?

Correct Jake.

I looked hard at a Reid case. At the time they were about $1800. I started adding up the 'might as wells' and I was soon over $4k worth of hard parts, then another $1K to get it setup. I had to hold off. My blanket is a Jegs for about $110, the flex plate is a Summit brand that was $70 and the flex plate scatter shield was $80. I can handle less than $300.

Wouldn't it just be easier to reinforce the floor?

This seems like such a convoluted option for such limited protection.
How come your are from Truckistan now?!?! Lol

I'm totally changing mine. Hahaha

Link to Blanket? Seems like a way better idea than a 4L80E shield.

We moved to Truckistan the second the convoy left. Now let's see if your Premier and mine have a big enough set between them to step on the Little Potato's neck.

Honk!

It fits, but the dipstick tube doesn’t - yet ;)

Not the best of photos. I was concerned about down pipe clearance, but that slides in easily. And it wasnt over key difficult to get in and get the trans to block bolts in either.

A couple of night’s of diligent work and I should be cranking it up…….FINALLY!!!!

It’s alive finally.

The Holley I/O box is hooked up and functioning. I still have 4 inputs and 3 outputs left to use.

Holy freakin’ fuel leaks. I did something unusual for my fuel system upgrades. I usually make all of the lines at the same
time, but this time I ordered PTFE fuel line kits from Amazon in varying sizes and reused some steel braided PTFE stuff we had laying around. The down side to that was I left 3 fittings loose (picture me smh). And the China rails both leaked at the drain fitting in the center of the rails. So they both came back off, of course separate times, because they didn’t leak immediately (or at the same time) - again SMH.

Trans and converter moved the car and didn’t make a giant mess on the ground lol.

Very close to getting it to the track I hope. I have an appointment on 5/14 to get the chassis certified.

SERIOUS progress finally!! Phew ;)
