Not my car in the photo obviously (it has mufflers), but I’m going to get one. Thanks Mac at Southside Machine for the lead. This is $200 and won’t interfere with my fuel system. So it’s a triple win - price, easy to install, and easy to adjust.

I thought I should post the best pictures taken of my car on my my thread. So here they are. I documented alot of the trials and tribulations of HRDW'21 on another thread here and on FB. I wouldn't trade any of it for the week with my son and the fun we had together, and stress we had together both during and leading up to the week. FWIW, I'd do it again next week with him and hope to be a regular at DW and really hope he can participate with me.

As far as the rest of it, I have at least 5 upgrades to get working on : door swings outs (ordered), D1 transbrake (not ordered), fabricated core support and front crossmember, reworking of the factory air ducting in front of the rad & CAC, rehash of the factory dash with a Holley dash. And 6th, if I can pull it off, forward bars into the engine compartment. I've been pricing all of this and it seems to be about another $3k out of my pocket. I know in the DW crowd this is a minor expenditure, but anyone that knows me knows that this cheap SOB will take all winter to drop that much Do Re Mi. This will push my total expenditure in this turdbomb to around $12K.

I ask everyone to NOT TELL MY WIFE ;) But....I'm sure these will get me into the mid or low 9's.
Curious on the reason for the cowl hood in some pics and flat hood in others? Regardless, I like the look of the black hood on a white car....gives the car a mean vibe.

Glasstek was between the last two tracks. We tried to load two hoods on the trailer and we couldn’t do it without damaging the bottom hood (design flaw on my part.) So the only way we could get both was to put the one for my car on to the car.

The 1st 4 days was with the stock hood and and the last day I had the fiberglass hood on.

Thanks for the thoughts on the black hood. I kinda like it as well. Still debating on how to paint it and the remainder of the car.

Getting ready for the off season (unfortunately :( )

I've grabbed the 1st group of parts to get me where I want to go.

New TB (Warr Performance 92mm)
Trans Brake (Jake's Performance D1)
Tubular Core support (Straight Shot Performance)
ARB (CPP Performance)

I have been planning to get a cranked up converter (upgrade from Freakshow). After talking to Michael at Freakshow, looking at datalogs from my last time out (9.9 pass), runs during the summer and runs from the end of last year - I've convinced myself that my converter slip hasn't gotten worse despite adding more power. ATM I'm planning to 'run what I brung', regarding the converter, with the single billet 9.5" Freakshow. I recalculated my tire circumference to convince me that my slip is less than 10% (acceptable). And seeing that it was the same a year ago as it is now made me feel alot better.

I still need to upgrade the turbo to something that should get me further, but winter is long and will give me the time to be sure about what I want to buy. And it should give me time to save some do re mi to get what I want (hopefully haha ;) )

Anxiously awaiting the ARB to come in for your thoughts. Or sway bar, whatever we want to call it. :ROFLMAO:

Life has been busy. My son, and inspiration for most everything car related, moved and for the last month that has been my focus. Almost 3000 miles of driving to move him and one of his cars to NC in the past two weeks has left me gasping for sleep ……… and realizing how much I miss him already. The whole deal has made me feel old.

At least I still have a car of his to finish and of course mine to work on. So it ain’t all bad ;)

The measurements on the sway bar might force a spring relocation by a 1/2”-1”, but it should work nicely. The U-bolts are for a g-body axle diameter of 3”, not the 8.8 diameter. But that is easily, and cheaply, overcome.

The néw TB seems decent. Will find out soon if it seals much better than the Amazon special that I have now.

I expect the core support and trans brake to be in the mail soon according to the vendors.

Im still wish washy on what to do with the converter. Day to day I change my mind lol.

I have to keep one thing in mind - Full
Tilt, WOT Go by Spring.

Once I get into the mods I’ll post a bunch. In the mean time , I’ll be thinking about day and night lol. (And getting my son’s Motown street worthy)
