The hard part is done!!!
Very cool!View attachment 74766 Oops. Got the 5.3 to set in there last night. Happy to see it in there! One of the motor mount bolts kind of sucked but hey, it’s in there! Got a couple videos of it on youtube if you want to go watch them, and subscribe if you feel like it. I will be posting more and hopefully the editing will get better the more I learn. Thanks guys! https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCprYn-WnzMjJOA3-diik7pw
From what I've read, it should fit with no tunnel mods. I recommend the G-Force X-member. Great folks. Great quality. Are you going to run carb or injection on the 5.3. Glad I got to see the wagon with the SBC in it. Hope I get to see it with the 5.3.Yes well kind of lol. Still gotta fit the 4L80E. That’ll be challenging.
To be honest, I’ll probably just modify the crossmember I already have. I’m running fuel injection. Trying to decide if I’ll have time to put a turbo on it before power tour. Going to run stock computer and convert it to Holley dominator next year. Getting a 9 inch built for it right now. Should be decent little wagon when it’s done. Just dreading fitting the 4l80e. Also need to figure out the shifter situation. Picked up a be cool radiator for free because it was leaking so we will see if I can get it fixed. Going to run holleys drop in fuel pump unit that seals around the grooves on the tank since no one makes a fuel injection tank for the wagons. We will see how it goes. From what I've read, it should fit with no tunnel mods. I recommend the G-Force X-member. Great folks. Great quality. Are you going to run carb or injection on the 5.3. Yes that’s about the only way I’ve seen to control the transmission other than micro squirt or dominator. I decapped the stock injectors and that’s been my only modification to the engine. Other than that it’s stock right down to the bearings and head bolts.Well, with the production PCM you have your transmission controller. Cool project.
