I'm curious to get the opinion of people here regarding the pros/cons of single diaphragm vs dual diaphragm brake boosters. Are there any advantages or disadvantages of one as opposed to the other? The Malibu that I purchased last fall has a single diaphragm booster in it now, but I have a dual diaphragm booster in my spare parts. Is it worthwhile for me to change it out? As I said before, I'm just being curious here. Thanks in advance.

I still have the factory dual booster on my Monte it works well and clears my big block valve covers and I retained it when I added my Wilwood rear discs and my car stops on a dime using only a belt driven vacuum pump to supplement the brakes.

Yes it's worth it. When I upgraded to rear disk and the larger disks up front I swapped in a dual diaphragm booster from a 89'-90' Caprice. Compared to the factory Cutlass unit it has a larger diameter and dual diaphragm design.....It looks factory stock and provides a high pedal will reduced effort.
