I appreciate your opinions. Just always wanna double check with people who have done it before since I am a beginner and really hate making stupid mistakes. Thanks to everyone on the forum for being willing to help me out from time to time. Your input is always a very big help.
I have one like this. It works pretty decently. I just saw them in a sale flyer for $9.99, so if you got a HF near you, its even a better deal than mail order. Keep in mind tho that the HVLP is HIGH VOLUME, low pressure. The CFM requirements, especially on the HF brand, may be more than the output on your small compressor. This doesn't mean the gun won't work necessarily, it means that it won't handle continuos spraying. You'll have to take a look at your compressors output rating. Generally they'll give you numbers @ 40 psi and 90 psi on the smaller compressors. That gun needs about 35 - 40 psi, your compressor can surely supply that, but you'll need 7 - 10, maybe more, CFM at that 40 psi. If your compressor puts out less than that, you'll bleed the pressure off the tank faster than the pump can refill it. Soon the output will drop below the 40 psi and the gun will not work correctly. You said for small jobs, if you stick with that, it should work fine.
Clean it good after use and it will last quite a while. Avoid latex/water based paints tho since the internals of this gun don't like them and it'll go to sh*t on you in a hurry.
