the little white nylon bushing that sits in the frame bracket for the shift levers under the car. Anyone got a part number? I for the life of me can't find it anywhere. I ordered two from Dixie Restorations, but they won't be here till next week. If i can get the # and buy some locally, that would be neat.

Thanks for any info.

What about offering to pay Dixie more if they can ship it overnight

They are GM 1377083, if you have a local dealership that has been around a long time they might have something dusty in the back. In a pinch, I have used an m10 washer and some bearing grease to get me through.

Now that is great service.

A vendor giving the part number up so that you could get it somewhere else

And on top of that giving advice on how to fix it without the part.

That is really unselfish of you to post the part number. With your ethics I hope your business grows and grows.....:)

I just checked my inventory. I have 20 of those things laying around somewhere....probably because they came in a pack of 20.

They also used to come in black plastic as well from GM when they used boxes to pack them in. The plastic bushings held up better than most people think. Sure, they wore some, they were sacrificial lambs for just that purpose. But I've never changed them out unless I had the linkage apart for some reason. Never as a "have to".

Dorman makes a replacement if you have a local dealer that deals in Dorman. Part #74030. If you can find it. Not listed on Dorman website. Strange. Maybe they don't sell those any longer. Also, ATP sells them, JO-121 is their part number.

The NOS ones are all over ebay, albeit at a hefty price. Dixie Restoration's price is MUCH MUCH better. :)

Thank you, how kind. I did order 2 of the nylon bushing, just needed a "right now" fix. One of my old steel wheel nuts will work until then.

In this hobby, quick fixes are something we have all had to come up with and sharing knowledge is something that helps everyone and will always be a priority. Thanks, guys for the kind words and MrSony I hope it all works out for you. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
